Solgar® Balance Rhodiola Complex combines many well-researched adaptogenic botanical herbs and nutrients that have been shown to support human health. This formula may support an increased resistance to stress whilst enhancing calmness and relaxation.

Rhodiola Rosea:
Many of Rhodiola’s benefits are related to its function as an adaptogen - a compound that increases the body’s natural resistance to any type of stress. Excessive release of stress hormones by the adrenal glands contributes to physical and mental fatigue, blood sugar imbalance, depression, immune suppression, sleep disturbance and cardiovascular dysfunction. Rhodiola has been shown to assist in regaining or maintaining the body’s normal, healthy hormonal response to stress.

Siberian Ginseng Root Extract:
Although not a true ginseng, Siberian ginseng increases tolerance to various stressors. By providing phytonutrients that support the naturally balanced manufacture and secretion of adrenal hormones, this herb helps the body to maintain a normal, healthy response to stress triggers.

Liquorice Root Extract:
Glycyrrhizin, a compound found in liquorice, is metabolised to glycyrrhetinic acid in the intestines. In studies, glycyrrhetinic acid has been shown to help support the body when the adrenal glands are stressed or tired.

Roman Chamomile Extract (Chamaemelum Nobile):
Chamomile has been used traditionally for thousands of years as a healing herb, especially for such instances as stress, anxiety and poor sleep. Chamomile helps enhance feelings of calmness and relaxation.

Magnesium:
Magnesium, a mineral found in dark leafy greens, nuts and seeds, whole grains, beans and oily fish, is required for proper nerve and muscle function. A deficiency of magnesium may lead to tension and irritability, which exacerbates stress.

Pantothenic Acid:
Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) is a precursor of coenzyme A, which is required for the synthesis of various hormones, including adrenal hormones.

Tyrosine:
Catecholamines (adrenaline, noradrenaline and dopamine) are synthesised from tyrosine and become depleted during stress. Studies support the use of tyrosine’s adaptogenic properties under extreme environmental conditions or psychological stress.
