Mediherb - Kava tabs

This tablet contains Kava root extracted with 100% water, which provides an extract with a full spectrum of constituents including the kava lactones. This product is standardised to contain 50 mg per tablet of kava lactones to ensure optimal strength and quality.

Mode of Action
Kava has been traditionally used in the Pacific Islands in the form of a decoction (water extract) with sedative and spasmolytic activities, to relax the mind and body, to relax the nerves and induce sleep.

Indications
* Helps relieve nervous tension, stress and mild anxiety.

* May assist in mild depression
* Relief of sleeplessness and insomnia.
* Relief of muscular aches and pains.

Contraindications and Cautions

Not for prolonged use. Children under 12 and those who are pregnant or nursing are not recommended to use Kava. Use only under close professional supervision. If symptoms persist consult your health care practitioner. In rare cases Kava has been linked to liver damage. Caution is advised in patients taking central nervous system depressants. Contraindicated in patients taking L-dopa and antiparkinson drugs. Discontinue 7 days prior to general anaesthesia.

Each tablet contains:
Piper methysticum (Kava) extract equivalent to dry root
containing kava lactones 50 mg 3.2 g

Dosage and Administration
Adults: 1 tablet, 2–3 times daily. 2 tablets before bedtime for sleep disorders.
