Foot patches are a simple non-invasive and natural way to detox the body. They simply warm up and stimulate the soles of your feet whilst you sleep. Over the past 50 years 100's of different chemicals have been introduced into our environment from the food and water we drink to the air we breathe. A build-up of toxins in the body can lead to an imbalance and health problems. Foot patches maintain a powerful reputation in traditional folk medicine, with a well documented use in China that dates back over 500 years. What are foot patches?
Foot Patches look like a tea bag which has a mixture of herbs and minerals. When they are pressed against the body they warm up, and increase circulation to the area. The foot patches absorb any toxins that the body releases.

Where do I apply them?
You simply apply the patches to the soles of your feet when you go to bed and let the patches absorb the toxins whilst you sleep.
Many people apply the patches to other parts of the body such as a sore knee or shoulder.

To Apply the patches

Simply remove the backing from the plaster
Place the patch in the middle of the plaster sheet making sure that the writing is face down on the plaster. The waffle weaver side of the patch will be in contact with your foot.
You can apply the patch to either the heel of each foot or the centre of each foot. Press the plaster onto the foot firmly.
Leave the patches on for approximately 8-12 hours.
In the morning the patches will have become wet and may smell. It is recommended that you remove the patches in the bathroom as they can make your feet quite sticky. The stickiness is normal and will reduce slightly each day. You can keep them and compare each day as you progress.

Particular areas of the foot patch maybe darker than others, which is an indication of parts of the body that are getting the greatest benefits.
You can experiment with where to place the patches on your feet.

Are there any side effects?
Most people suffer no side effects however with any detox in the first few days you may feel weak, slightly fatigued or nauseous, this passes as you progress.
After two of three nights using the patches most people notice a better quality of sleep and feel fresher in the morning.

How long should I use foot patches?
This really depends on the individual. The amount of waste that appears on the patches is the best guide. If after the 7-day program the patches have become less sticky then this is enough. Should the patches still be really sticky and black after 7 days you may need to continue using the patches. This means you have a higher level of accumulated toxins and it may take up to a month before the patches become clear.

Ingredients Explained

Tourmaline
Tourmaline is best known as one of the only minerals to naturally emit far- infrared heat and negative ions. Tourmaline exerts a cleansing and liberating energy that has a very positive effect on the body

Tree Essence or Wood Vinegar
Wood sap vinegar is made by the burning of wood to charcoal, distilling the condensation. From the charcoal kiln, smoke billows upward. When this smoke is cooled and condensed, a thick brown /black liquid results. This liquid is raw pyroligneous acid (wood vinegar). From this raw material, further refining is carried out to remove the tar and any other undesirable elements. The result is a beautiful liquid of a pale yellow color (very weak tea). This liquid is then aged for up to a year to produce the final high quality wood vinegar that can be consumed as a health tonic. It is condensed five times and contains no synthetic vinegar or starch.
After the initial extraction process, the extract is dried for a period of six months. It is then filtered four times using the highest quality Umbamegashi-Binchou Charcoal. It is then dried one more time for an additional six months before it can be considered for use. This process yields a very concentrated extract with an extremely high level of purity. Wood vinegar and bamboo extract are naturally condensed 5 times until both become a powder. This drying phase lasts for a period of over 8 months and makes for an exceptional purity of product. Then finally this essence, after a last quality control test, goes into the Foot Patch.

Ginger was also used as a carminative and in the symptomatic treatment of colds. It has been used in China and other countries for many years as a tonic.
Ginger contains gingerol, a Ginger oleoresin (combination of volatile oils and resin) that accounts for the characteristics aroma of Ginger, and explains its therapeutic properties.

Chitosan
Chitosan is the name given to the polymers that are obtained by the deacetylation of chitin (poly-b-1,4-D-N-acetylglucosamine). In industrial-scale procedures, chitin is produced by treating seafood waste, especially shells from crustaceans (shrimps, crabs, lobsters, krills, etc).
Chitosan is the result of the biomass research. Chitosan products have been used now for over 30 years by water companies to trap toxins, grease, heavy metals, and oils. It is the second most plentiful fibre, after cellulose. Chitosan products are also used extensively by the medical profession due to their remarkable ability to promote wound healing to injuries such as burns and skin inflammation.

Starch- Rice
Dextrin is a product of starch hydrolysis, a carbohydrate having the same general molecular structure as starch but with a smaller and less complex molecule with adhesive properties. Its presence is necessary in our foot patches as a filler, and also to bind other ingredients together. Beware of claims for foot patches made without dextrin, as this is misleading. Without dextrin, foot patches will not work, like a car running without tyres. However, keeping the amount of dextrin low in the foot patches is the best way to achieve optimum results. Foot patches with high amounts of dextrin, and with low amounts of vinegar, gives less benefit and poor results, although the smell of the vinegar is less pungent.
