Product Details

Blackmores Adequate iron intake supports cellular oxygination and energy production, and helps maintain the body's energy levels and immune function. Blackmores Bio Iron contains ferrous fumarate; a gentle form of iron which when used as directed should not cause gastric irritation or constipation.

Vitamin C is included to support optimal uptake of iron. Vitamin B12 supports the functioning of enzymes in amino acid, fatty acid, and nucleic acid metabolism, and the metabolism of folic acid. Pregnant women may particularly benefit fromt the extra nutritional support of Blackmores Bio Iron, since foetal formation increases the mother's need for folic acid. Supplementation of folic acid is recommended for at least one month prior to conception and for the duration of the pregnancy to support the healthy development of baby's nervous system. Additionally, folic acid (along with vitamin B6 and B12), supports the body's metabolism of the amino acid homocysteine.
